Service Stream and PonyUp for Good reach major milestone

More than 125,000 meals donated through retired technology program

Service Stream is celebrating a significant milestone in its partnership with social enterprise PonyUp for Good, demonstrating how responsible technology management can deliver both environmental and community benefits.

Since 2019, retired technology assets from Service Stream sites across Australia have been repurposed and recycled through the program, helping reduce e-waste while supporting Australians experiencing food insecurity.

Together, the partnership has achieved:

  • 16,257kg of technology diverted from landfill
  • 125,374 fresh meals donated through SecondBite
  • 59.8% technology reuse rate

By extending the life of retired technology through refurbishment, reuse and responsible recycling, the program supports Service Stream's commitment to sustainability, circular economy principles and positive community impact.

Mardi Brown, Co-Founder of PonyUp for Good, said the milestone demonstrates how everyday business decisions can create meaningful social and environmental outcomes.

"We're incredibly grateful to Service Stream for their trust, leadership and for walking the talk on our shared belief that procurement can be a powerful force for good. Putting 125,000 meals on the tables of people doing it tough by repurposing retired technology is an incredible achievement," Said Mardi.

As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to building on the positive impact achieved to date and continuing to turn retired technology into a force for good.
