Service Stream helps strengthen veteran connections
Meaningful connections play an important role in supporting veterans and their families as they navigate life beyond service. Through its partnership with Soldier On, Service Stream is helping create opportunities for veterans to reconnect, share experiences and build supportive relationships through community events and activities across Australia.
One recent event in South Australia brought veterans and their families together for an evening of connection, conversation and camaraderie at the historic Navy, Military and Air Force Club of South Australia in Adelaide.
Hosted by Soldier On South Australia, the dinner welcomed 30 veterans, family members and supporters, providing an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, build new relationships and strengthen community ties in a welcoming and familiar environment.
The evening featured a presentation from Brigadier Mick Burgess, who shared reflections on the many transitions people experience throughout life, including military service, career changes, family life and personal growth. His insights resonated strongly with attendees, many of whom described the presentation as inspiring, thought-provoking and highly relatable.
Beyond the keynote presentation, the event highlighted the importance of creating spaces where veterans and families can connect with others who understand the unique experiences and challenges associated with military service and life beyond it.
Service Stream Senior Manager Diversity, Equity & Inclusion James Smith said supporting programs that strengthen wellbeing, connection and resilience within the veteran community is an important part of the company's commitment to creating positive outcomes for veterans and their families.
