Connecting with First Nations talent at the NTIBN BLAKjobs Expo

Service Stream proudly participated in the Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network (NTIBN) BLAKjobs Expo held in Darwin on 13 August.

The expo brought together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, job seekers, community members, employers, training providers and industry leaders, creating valuable opportunities to explore employment pathways, career development and skills training opportunities.

Representatives from Service Stream's Defence and Social Infrastructure team engaged with attendees throughout the day, providing information about the diverse range of career opportunities available across our business. The event also provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships with local communities, Traditional Owners and industry partners while promoting pathways into meaningful and long-term employment.

Participation in events such as the NTIBN BLAKjobs Expo reflects Service Stream's ongoing commitment to increasing Indigenous participation across our workforce and supporting initiatives that create sustainable employment outcomes for First Nations communities.

By connecting directly with job seekers and community members, Service Stream can better understand local aspirations, share career opportunities and help build pathways through employment, training and professional development.

Halimah Abdullah, Indigenous Engagement Manager SA/NT, said the event demonstrated the value of collaboration between industry and community.

"Together, we can create pathways that empower Indigenous Australians through employment, skills development, and industry collaboration."

We look forward to continuing to strengthen relationships, support Indigenous talent and contribute to positive employment outcomes in the communities where we work and live.
