Service Stream launches First Peoples Staff Network
Service Stream is proud to announce the launch of its First Peoples Staff Network (FPSN), a significant milestone in the organisation’s reconciliation journey and commitment to creating an inclusive and culturally safe workplace for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
Established as a key initiative under Service Stream’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), the FPSN provides a dedicated platform for First Peoples employees to connect, share experiences, contribute insights and help shape the future direction of the business.
The Network will support cultural connection, professional development and leadership opportunities, while providing a valuable channel for First Peoples perspectives to inform organisational initiatives, policies and decision-making.
Jhdara Jones, National First Peoples Manager, said the Network represents an important step in strengthening the voice and representation of First Peoples employees across Service Stream.
"The First Peoples Staff Network is about creating a space where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees feel connected, supported and empowered to bring their whole selves to work. It provides an opportunity for our people to share their perspectives, celebrate culture, influence meaningful change and help shape a more inclusive future for Service Stream."
The FPSN will:
- Create a culturally safe and empowering environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
- Strengthen connection, belonging and cultural pride across the workforce.
- Support leadership development and professional growth opportunities.
- Provide a channel for First Peoples perspectives to inform business decisions and initiatives.
- Contribute to the delivery of Service Stream’s Reconciliation Action Plan and Indigenous Participation commitments.
The Network will be led by Service Stream’s First Peoples Strategy & Engagement Team and supported by Sarah Bottomley, Chief People Officer, as Executive Sponsor.
Working closely with leaders and stakeholders across the business, the FPSN will provide culturally informed guidance, workforce insights and feedback on initiatives that impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and communities. It will also play an important role in supporting the implementation of Service Stream’s RAP and broader Indigenous Participation commitments.
The launch of the FPSN reflects Service Stream’s commitment to turning reconciliation into meaningful action. By creating opportunities for First Peoples employees to connect, contribute and lead, the Network will help strengthen inclusion, representation and cultural understanding across the organisation.
