Controls Save Lives

Service Stream’s Controls Save Lives campaign has been underway since February, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring critical safety controls are consistently applied and effective across all work activities.

The campaign focuses on strengthening our approach to planning work, identifying risks, and verifying that the right controls are in place, every time.

Across our operations, controls are what protect our people. Whether it’s isolations, permits, physical safeguards, procedures or personal protective equipment, these controls are essential to managing high-risk activities safely.

As part of the campaign, a series of livestream panel discussions are running throughout the year, bringing together frontline leaders and field workers to share practical, real-world perspectives on:

  • What the right controls look like in the field
  • What “good” looks like when controls are in place and working effectively
  • Lessons and insights from across the business

Employees are encouraged to actively participate by:

  • Attending the livestream sessions
  • Asking questions and sharing feedback
  • Speaking up if controls are missing, unclear or not working effectively

As Darren Kuchel, Group Head of Safety, explains, these conversations play an important role in strengthening our safety culture and ensuring continuous improvement across the business.

“At Service Stream, we know that the controls we put in place and how consistently we apply them, are what keep our people safe. This campaign is about reinforcing the critical role those controls play in every task, every day, and empowering our teams to stop, check and ensure they’re working as intended.”

By ensuring the right controls are in place and verified every time, we continue to build a safer workplace for our people, our partners and the communities we serve.

Because at Service Stream, we know Controls Save Lives.
