Service Stream helps tackle food insecurity with Eat Up
Last month, as part of the joint community initiatives delivered through Yarra Valley Water's Reliability Program, Service Stream, Yarra Valley Water and Abergeldie came together to support Eat Up, a not-for-profit helping tackle food insecurity in schools.
Together, 24 volunteers made an incredible 1,100 sandwiches in just one hour at our Clayton office, contributing to Eat Up's mission of providing free lunches to students who need them most.
Eat Up works with schools across Australia to provide free lunches to children experiencing food insecurity. Through the support of thousands of volunteers, the organisation prepares more than 30,000 sandwiches every week, helping students arrive in the classroom ready to learn and participate in their school day.
The volunteering activity was a fantastic opportunity for our people to give back to the community while partnering with our clients Yarra Valley Water and Abergeldie for a shared purpose.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to support this important initiative. Together, we helped make a positive difference in the lives of children and families in our communities.
