Major reconstruction works currently underway
Peninsula Link Pavement Works
Major works are being carried out along 14 kilometres of the southern sections of the Peninsula Link. Delivered in stages, the works will replace the road to keep the connection between the Mornington Peninsula and Melbourne safe and reliable.
These works are built into the Peninsula Link contract with the State of Victoria and are not an additional cost to taxpayers.
Impacts, road closures and delays
Some lanes and ramps will be closed while works are underway. Reduced speed limits are likely throughout the work period, even when road workers aren't visible because the physical condition of the road has changed, creating hazards that are not always obvious to drivers.
Delays are likely and we urge motorists to allow plenty of extra time if travelling on Peninsula Link.

Upcoming closures
Stage 2 surfacing works commenced at 7pm on Thursday, 19 February and will continue until 6am Friday, 6 March.
Weather permitting, these works are scheduled for completion ahead of the Labour Day long weekend, with all lanes reopened and the speed limit restored to 100km per hour.
Stage 3 works are scheduled to commence 10 March 2026. Further details on all roadwork stages, including maps, can be found in the Works Schedule table above.
