Volunteering with Dandelion Support Network
Service Stream employees recently volunteered at the Dandelion Support Network Inc in Taren Point, NSW.
The Dandelion Support Network is a not-for-profit charity that accept, sort and safety check children’s clothes, toys and nursery items for families in need. They work with hospitals and support agencies to provide these donations to the families.
Since December 2011, the Dandelion Support Network has helped over 14,000 families, and now work with more than 200 hospitals and community service agencies to create positive change in the community.
Eleven Service Stream volunteers assisted the team at Dandelion in sorting through donated clothes, toys, books, and shoes. They also helped clean and assemble cots and highchairs in preparation for family gift packs.
“Volunteering at the Dandelion Support Network was an enlightening experience. Witnessing firsthand the positive impact this organisation has on the lives of families in need was truly inspiring,” says Jay Stolica, Community & Stakeholder Lead – Water.
“The dedication of the team and the volunteers, and the warmth of the atmosphere made it a day filled with joy and fulfilment. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute and be a part of such a remarkable organisation.”
All the goods are processed using high quality assurance standards so that they can be enjoyed by their new owner. Once the items are ready for their new home, they are packed with love ready for a new family.
A big thank you to all who volunteered and participated!
