Service Stream Team Supports Families Through Volunteering with Our Village
It started as a day of volunteering, but it turned into something much bigger
Sometimes a volunteering day becomes much more than giving time. It becomes an opportunity for connection, perspective and making a genuine difference in the lives of others.
Recently, 11 team members from Service Stream’s Group Legal, Risk, Compliance and Company Secretary function stepped away from their day-to-day roles to volunteer with Our Village, a grassroots charity supporting families across Victoria by collecting and rehoming essential baby and children’s items.
Each year, Our Village assists more than 20,000 babies and children by working closely with social workers and maternal and child health nurses to provide families with quality essentials. At the same time, the organisation helps reduce landfill by giving pre-loved items a second life. Their model is built on care, community and sustainability.
Our team was proud to contribute to the important behind-the-scenes work that helps make this support possible. During the day, they:
- Sorted and packed 75 bundles of sleepsuits
- Prepared 16 clothing bundles
- Moved cots
- Cleaned baby toiletry bags
- Sorted underwear and shoes ready for distribution
While these results are impressive, the impact goes well beyond the numbers. The day was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose, supporting families doing it tough while helping reduce waste through reuse.
We are incredibly proud of our people for living our values and giving back where it matters most.
Thank you to everyone involved, and to Our Village for the incredible work they do every day supporting families in need.
