Service Stream showcases AI Innovation at AWS Summit Sydney 2026

Service Stream recently showcased its AI innovation capabilities on the main stage at the AWS Summit Sydney 2026. Simon Fisher, Solution Architect, AI & Innovation, presented how the business is transforming fieldwork verification using multimodal large language models (LLMs).

Simon was joined by Najeeb Aftab, Account Director at AWS, for the session 27× Faster: How Service Stream Automated Work Order Verification. The session explored how Service Stream is using advanced AI solutions across its field operations. It highlighted the benefits these technologies are delivering, including improved operational efficiency, greater accuracy and stronger decision-making.

The AWS Summit Sydney is one of the largest cloud and AI events in the Asia-Pacific region, attracting more than 10,000 attendees from across Australia and overseas.

During the session, Simon outlined the challenges associated with verifying work orders at scale and shared how Service Stream designed, tested and deployed an AI-driven solution to streamline the process.

Key outcomes achieved through the initiative included:

  •  27x faster verification process compared to previous methods,
  • 94% accuracy in identifying objects and approved work, and a
  • 50% reduction in review time, allowing teams more time to focus on higher-value activities

The presentation also provided insight into Service Stream’s broader approach to AI adoption, which is guided by three core principles:

  • Augment over autonomy, 
  • Build now for the future, and
  • Enable bottom-up experimentation across the organisation. 

Looking ahead, Simon shared the next phase of Service Stream’s AI journey. This includes a broader rollout of AI capabilities across the business, enhanced safety analytics using field video and the development of real-time validation capabilities to further support field operations.
