Our journey begins as Victoria's road maintenance provider
As the clock ticked over on 1 July 2024, we were excited to commence as the Victorian Road Maintenance Contract (VRMC) services provider.
Just 11 weeks after being announced as the incoming services provider for the VRMC South Central Metro Region, Service Stream took over responsibility for maintaining more than 4,000 lane kilometres of road pavement and 1,000 associated structures on behalf of the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning (DTP).
Services provided:
- Daily network inspections
- Incident and emergency response services
- Routine servicing and repairs
- Refurbishment and upgrade projects
From 1 July, you’ll see our crews and local delivery partners out on the network doing the important work that makes our roads safer, our journeys more enjoyable and our communities across Victoria better connected.
Behind the scenes, in our Network Intelligence & Operations Centre (NIOC), our asset and maintenance management specialists are planning, coordinating and monitoring everything we’re doing on the network with the aim of getting work done efficiently and to the highest quality standards, while minimising disruption for thousands of road users who rely on these roads every day.
“The effort and commitment from everyone involved in our VRMC mobilisation has been nothing short of inspiring. It’s a testament to the depth of resources and expertise available across our organisation,” says Drew Morrison, VMRC Project Director.
“In less than three months we’ve recruited, onboarded and trained more than 30 new employees, established supply agreements with key subcontractors, and commissioned new facilities, plant and equipment. We’ve implemented our ISO accredited quality, safety and environmental management systems. And we’ve worked closely with DTP to develop maintenance programs and works methodologies tailored to the VRMC scope, priorities and objectives.”
