Northern Australia Defence Week
Service Stream attended the Northern Australia Defence Week in the Northern Territory, learning more about the critically strategic role the region plays in Australia’s Defence capability.
The Northern Territory is home to over 5,000 Defence personnel, across 5 bases and is a key strategic position for Australia’s security.
A key highlight of the week is the Northern Australia Defence Summit. This year’s summit held on the 8th May in Darwin covered a range of topics including current capabilities, future investment in critically important infrastructure, local economic growth support, and skills and resource challenges to support operations.
Members of Service Stream’s Defence team attended the summit along with Charlie Reilly, Executive General Manager, Defence & Social Infrastructure.
“The Summit was a great opportunity for Service Stream to learn more about the NT’s role in Australia’s Defence framework and actively participate in engaging discussions with Defence and NT Government personnel around future investments and priorities in the region,” says Charlie.
“We also met and discussed contemporary workforce challenges with SMEs and supply chain members supporting Defence operations throughout the Territory.”
“Overall, it was great to be involved in Northern Australia Defence Week activities in Darwin and Katherine, and to partake in the positive energy of Defence in this region.”
