Based at the Hope Valley depot, the position supports field teams to foster a positive customer experience and an
outcome-driven culture, enhancing capability through mentoring and development.
About the Role
Key responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Service Delivery
● Direct day-to-day operations to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of planned, reactive, and maintenance activities
● Participate in the overall contract operational service delivery to ensure business plan objectives and corporate strategies are met
● Act as the first point of contact for service issues, including modifying work programs where required
● Lead emergency response activities and incident management reporting when required
Works Planning, Systems & Performance Management
● Ownership of works management systems, including JAMS validation, data accuracy, and reporting integrity
● Manage planned versus reactive maintenance activities to optimise service delivery
● Drive schedule compliance, backlog management, and labour utilisation
● Update, reconcile, and drive the efficient delivery of weekly work programs
● Monitor and review operational performance metrics (weekly and monthly), identifying trends and improvement opportunities
Commercial & Continuous Improvement Accountability
● Manage budgets and maintain cost control within delegated limits of authority
● Identify and drive productivity and efficiency improvement initiatives
● Maintain ownership of improvement project costs and outcomes
● Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across operational delivery
Project & Field Delivery
● Coordinate and support the delivery of projects and minor works as required
● Maintain a high level of field presence, including conducting regular field audits
People Leadership & Capability Development
● Provide supportive and strong people leadership, including supervision, technical guidance, coaching, and training
● Lead by example by complying with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, and holding team members accountable to the same expectations
● Constructively and professionally deliver key messages and feedback to team members, peers, leadership, and stakeholders
● Foster a positive customer experience and outcome-driven culture through mentoring and capability development
Qualifications required
- Current Drivers License
- White Card
- Certificate IV in Civil Supervision or equivalent experience (desired)
Skills required
- Ability to interpret and understand civil / mechanical drawings and scopes of work
- Good standard with use of MS Office software
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- High level interpersonal skills with the ability to positively influence team members and working relationships
- Understanding of SWMS, risk assessment and analysis
- Strong Client focus
- Strong understanding of the field crew’s ability to positively influence commercial outcomes through field works
- Demonstrate a strong safety focus including the leadership qualities of Walk, Talk, Lead, Care.
- Being an outcome driven team player.
- A willingness to think openly, with a positive, adaptable mindset.
- Working collaboratively with other Field Supervisors.
Responsibilities
OHS / Environment / Quality responsibilities
- Report any injury, incident or near miss promptly and in accordance with Company policies and procedures
- Actively participate and comply with all Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements as outlined in the policies and management systems.
- Actively promote safe and environmentally responsible work practices to other employees and subcontractors and report all non-conformances and incidents.
- Ensuring all activities undertaken comply with the applicable legal requirements, including but not limited to duty of care and prevention of pollution.
- Perform a 7-day period of Supervisory on call
