Service Stream's Utilities division is seeking a highly organised and proactive Subcontractor Officer to join our growing team in Brisbane. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in coordinating essential control systems and infrastructure works that support Australia's vital utilities networks.

As the key link between operations, clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, you will drive work delivery, improve subcontractor performance, strengthen governance processes, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and compliantly. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and review control systems work requests.
  • Schedule and dispatch work orders, including work order closure and quality assurance activities.
  • Manage internal field resources, work prioritisation, timesheet accuracy, and reporting.
  • Coordinate operational activities between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Review quotations, claims, and variations to ensure commercial and contractual accuracy.
  • Support month-end reporting activities alongside finance stakeholders.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, resource utilisation reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Monitor cost improvement initiatives across the portfolio.
  • Assess work priorities and criticality in consultation with operational stakeholders.
  • Support technical assurance and compliance verification of completed works.
  • Ensure effective management of ancillary support services and subcontractor arrangements.

About You

You are a detail-oriented and solutions-focused professional who enjoys building strong relationships and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and compliantly.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in subcontractor management, contract administration, scheduling, planning, or operational coordination.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in administration, compliance, scheduling, planning, or project support.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong commercial awareness.

Highly regarded but not essential:

  • Experience with control systems, electrical infrastructure, or utilities environments.
  • Electrical trade qualification or similar technical background.
  • Planning, scheduling, or project coordination experience.
  • Project Management qualifications.
  • Experience reviewing subcontractor claims, quotations, and variations.
