Service Stream's M7 team are on the hunt for a casual Traffic Control Room Operator to join us at our Eastern Creek office!

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and driven Traffic Control Room Operator to join the team at Westlink M7, Eastern Creek . In this role you will provide control room operations through 24-hour monitoring to ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic along the M7 and supporting related work to minimise disruption.

This will be a casual on call role, paid weekly. 

Please note: We are looking for candidates who are available to work at short notice, in addition to being able to commit to shifts scheduled in advance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties of the Traffic Control Room Operator in the 24-hour 7-day week operation of the control room
  • Monitor the asset and identify any unplanned and planned incidents, including congestion and planned works
  • Initiate incident and emergency response processes in accordance with policies, plans and procedures
  • Report and log all incidents, events, and equipment failures
  • Actively monitor and respond to alarms associated with ITS systems
  • Proactively manage all relevant KPI’s for M7 Control Room
  • Provide support on other activities where applicable

About you:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • High-level problem-solving skill, including the ability to proactively develop innovative solutions to those problems.
  • The ability to work on a 24/7 rotating shift basis
  • The ability to work as an individual and in a team
  • Good computer skills
  • First Aid Training (desirable)
  • Traffic Management tickets (desirable)
  • Valid driver’s license
