Field Supervisor – Telecommunications (ONM)
Lead crews. Own the network. Deliver safely and on time.
Are you an experienced Telecommunications Field Supervisor who knows the realities of external plant work and contractor management? Do you thrive in a role where safety, quality, and delivery actually matter on the ground?
About the Role
In this role, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day field operations, supervising internal crews and subcontractors across a diverse portfolio of telecommunications projects. You’ll be in the field — conducting site assessments, inspections, quality audits, and ensuring all works are delivered to design specifications, safety standards, and KPI targets.
This is a role for someone who understands external plant networks, can read and interpret designs, and is confident managing subcontractors, defects, and deadlines.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead, direct and supervise field staff and subcontractors across live networks
Conduct site assessments, surveys, inspections and quality audits
Manage construction scheduling to meet commitment dates and client SLAs
Review and build to approved telecommunications design standards
Ensure all works meet OH&S, quality, and compliance requirements
Complete and submit all field artefacts accurately and in real time
Provide shoulder-to-shoulder training, coaching and mentoring
Manage subcontractor compliance, performance, defects and KPIs
Liaise with clients, customers and public authorities
Participate in on-call coverage as required
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be someone who’s spent years in the field and understands how networks are actually built and maintained.
Essential experience includes:
5+ years working within external plant telecommunications networks
Strong background supervising subcontractors and field crews
Proven experience with civil construction, cable hauling and fibre
Hands-on experience across HFC, FTTN, FTTC and FTTP environments
Solid understanding of site assessments and construction standards
Track record managing operational performance, KPIs and defects
A strong focus on safety, quality and compliance
Industry-recognised accreditations are advantageous.
