About the Role
Working alongside the Project Delivery Team, the Junior Project Engineer will gain exposure to Fibre and Civil network delivery, from design and build to commissioning and close-out. The role will require you to effectively manage and coordinate project related activities, with structured on‑the‑job learning and opportunities to build professional capability over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and maintaining project documentation, reporting, dashboards and trackers.
- Supporting the delivery of fibre and fixed‑line works to meet programme, cost, quality and safety targets.
- Assisting with the coordination of designers, field crews and subcontractors.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders, third parties and clients to support timely delivery.
- Supporting quality assurance and quality control across fibre build and remediation works.
- Assisting with RFIs, variations, as‑built documentation and project close‑out activities.
Key Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree (or higher) in Engineering (Telecommunications, Civil, Electrical or similar).
- High attention to detail with strong organisational and reporting skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A proactive mindset, with the willingness to learn within a delivery‑focused environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software Suite.
- An interest in data analysis, problem-solving and innovation.
Desired:
- Exposure to or understanding of telecommunications, NBN or fixed‑line network delivery.
- Familiarity with fibre construction activities such as trenching, pit and pipe, hauling, splicing or remediation.
- Experience or familiarity with asset management, GIS, CAD or network mapping systems.
