About the Opportunity

Service Stream’s Energy division are currently seeking a Safety Officer to join our growing company.  Based in the Darling Downs region, this position will be required for the duration of the outage, commencing mid to late-August until project close out expected to be early to mid-November.  This position is a site-based role.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Safety Lead, the Safety Officer will facilitate safety planning and execution during the event. 

• Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks and incident investigations
• Ensure compliance with WHS Act and client-specific procedures
• Advise and assist with verification of competency compliance
• Training matrix creation and on-going maintenance / management
• Support work groups, leading hands and supervisors with safety related items
• Support change management processes

About You

To be successful in this role, you are an experienced Safety Officer with a genuine concern for our people, equipment and positive outcomes.

We are seeking an individual with demonstrated knowledge and experience with outage / turnaround or shutdown preferably in a coal fired power station.

You will also demonstrate and possess the following:

• Prior experience in industrial safety
• Prior experience in an outage / turnaround or shutdown environment
• Cert IV in WHS or equivalent
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
