We have an opportunity available for a talented individual to join us as an Work Health and Safety (WHS) Advisor. You will be responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of WHS requirements across all M7, deliver proactive field engagement, coaching, and assurance to ensure compliance with WHS legislation, ISO 45001, and the contract WHS Management Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the WHS Management Plan and associated procedures across all worksites and activities.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and assurance activities with supervisors, document findings and improvement actions.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, pre-start meetings and targeted safety campaigns that address critical risks and trends.
- Participate in and, where required, lead incident investigations, ensuring timely root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
- Record incidents, near misses and hazards in the HSE system and monitor trends to support targeted interventions.
- Track and verify close-out of corrective and preventive actions, escalating overdue items to management.
- Review and verify Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Job Safety Environmental Analyses (JSEAs) for suitability and effectiveness.
- Support development and review of risk assessments and permit-to-work documentation (including access, isolation and hot-work permits).
- Ensure all workers, including subcontractors, maintain required licenses, tickets and competencies for the tasks they perform.
- Deliver WHS inductions and maintain accurate training and competency records in the training database.
- Support planning and execution of emergency response drills and ensure emergency equipment is serviceable and readily accessible.
- Review subcontractor WHS management plans and monitor compliance with site rules and regulatory requirements.
- Provide coaching and practical safety advice to supervisors and workers to strengthen safety culture and behaviours.
About You:
- 2–3 years’ experience in a safety role, ideally in maintenance, construction, utilities, or infrastructure
- Experience assisting with: Risk assessments and SWMS/JSA reviews, site safety inspections and audits, Incident investigations and corrective actions and Contractor and plant safety compliance
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum)
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, or Environmental Science
- Sound knowledge of NSW WHS legislation and ISO 45001
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Construction Induction (White Card)
- Current driver’s license (Class C minimum)
- First Aid and CPR certification (HLTAID011 or equivalent
- Diploma of Work Health and Safety (BSB51319) (desirable)
- Internal Auditor training (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001) (desirable)
- ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training (desirable)
- Return to Work Coordinator certification (desirable)
- Fire warden/emergency response training (desirable)
