Job Description Summary

ConnectSydney are on the hunt for an experienced Network Needs Manager to join our Rockdale team!

About the Role

ConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral, and Johnson Controls, in partnership with Transport for NSW (TfNSW), is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone. Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, strategic enhancements, and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydney's transport infrastructure.

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Network Needs Manager is responsible for leading asset management activities for ConnectSydney’s Sydney Road Assets Performance Contract in the Harbour Zone. This role provides strategic and tactical direction in asset management, ensuring compliance, innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement across operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Strategic and Tactical Asset Management Plans.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 55000 standards and reliability engineering principles.
  • Lead continuous improvement of Asset Management Systems (AMS) and in sustainability performance.
  • Provide technical analysis and advice for specific asset classes.
  • Align asset management strategies with ConnectSydney’s business objectives and TfNSW stewardship principles.
  • Support business development initiatives through strategic asset insights.
  • Collaborate with leadership to drive innovation and performance improvements.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the asset management team.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on AMS and asset management practices.
  • Foster a culture of safety, sustainability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Analyse monthly KPIs and contract performance targets; recommend improvement strategies.
  • Support maintenance planning in accordance with standards and risk assessments.
  • Integrate asset data into planning and decision-making processes.
  • Oversee risks related to sustainability performance, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are in place.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to enhance understanding and knowledge of sustainability requirements and expectations within the organization.
  • Ensure resilience and adaptability in asset strategies to meet future sustainability challenges.
  • Identify and implement innovative technologies and methodologies.

About You:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Preferred)
  • Asset Management Certification (Preferred) – Asset Management Council Australia
  • 10–15 years’ experience in maintenance services industry
  • Proven experience in civil maintenance delivery
  • Strong understanding of safety management in road network environments
  • Familiarity with ISO 55000 and reliability engineering concept
  • Proficiency in asset management systems and data analysis tools
  • Strong report writing and presentation capabilities
