Job Description Summary

Service Stream’s Utilities division is currently seeking an Electrical Control Systems Support Field Technician to join our growing company.

About the Role

The Control Systems Support Field Technician is responsible for conducting responsive, corrective, and preventative maintenance on electrical and control systems used in automation and process control.

This role supports the delivery of reliable, high-quality water, wastewater, and waste recovery services, ensuring economic and operational efficiencies for the Urban Utilities network.

This role integrates into a multi-disciplined team and is responsible for providing technical support services for automation and telemetry infrastructure. The Control Systems Support Field Technician will leverage problem-solving skills to troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain the Urban Utilities electrical and control systems (PLC/RTU and SCADA) networks effectively.

Nature of position:               Permanent, Full Time

Location:                               Brisbane, QLD

Reporting Line:                   Control Systems lead

Skills and Qualifications

  • Provide expert operations & maintenance input into SCADA asset planning, renewals and creation processes, asset management policies, strategies & plans.
  • Current electrical licence.
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Experience in the Water industry or similar industry (Desirable)
  • Experience with SCADA and Control Systems associated with wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.
  • Ability to integrate with and cooperate as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of PLC/RTU and SCADA. PLC software knowledge is preferred ,however not essential.
  • National Licence to perform High Risk work (Desirable) 
  • Capable of inspection, testing, adjustment and repairs of electrical equipment  
  • Instrumentation & Control fault finding ability
  • Willingness to upskill and undertake additional training for ongoing development
  • Willingness to contribute in minor maintenance upgrade /projects.
