ConnectSydney are on the hunt for an experienced Project Engineer to join the team!

About the Role

ConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral, and Johnson Controls, in partnership with Transport for NSW, is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone. Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, strategic enhancements, and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydney's transport infrastructure. 

We’re seeking a Project Engineer with proven technical expertise to join our high-performing Corridors Project Delivery Team. You'll be instrumental in assisting to manage, plan, organise, coordinate, deliver, monitor and report all Corridor delivery activities (signage, de-vegetation, bridge, drainage and slope maintenance) that result in delivery of the outcomes and achieve time, cost and quality objectives on assigned projects 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Achieve the delivery of Bridge component repair & replacement, Slope remediation and culvert & drainage projects through to completion and submission of all deliverables on time, to budget and to quality standard as agreed with project manager.  
  • Prepare, update and implement the Portfolio list of project works.    
  • Responsible for delivering work within budget 
  • In consultation with your manager, manage all contractors and staff who deliver projects.  
  • Prepare the list of deliverables / tasks from each project and transfer to the baseline design Schedule.  
  • Development of the delivery phase and interface activities.  
  • Interface with internal and external design team for the design requirements  
  • Liaise with client, site and vendors on aspects of the delivery phase and documentation work and organise meetings with them as required.  
  • Interface with cross discipline and external information and documents flow.  
  • Diagnose design related issues and resolves through documentation or escalation to senior management 
  • Complies with all Safety, Environmental, Community and Quality requirements as outlined in the policies and management systems and guide other design team members to do so.  
  • Monitor & address design changes and non-conformances.  
  • Project management activities for maintenance / construction of road infrastructure, structural, corridor, tunnel and ITS projects. 

About You:

  • Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (Essential) 
  • 5+ years in civil/infrastructure project delivery. 
  • Preferred track record in Bridge, slope remediation, or drainage. 
  • Familiar with all activities involved in setting up project teams and site establishment relating to multidiscipline projects. 
  • Sound Knowledge of Microsoft Office suit, MS Project.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • Results-driven, solution-oriented, and deadline-focused. 
  • Accountable, agile, and resilient. 
  • Collaborative team player with a commercial mindset.
