About the Role
Service Stream’s Utilities Division are currently seeking a Civil Maintenance Worker with Wastewater Jetting to join our team in Dandenong South. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the operation of Jet Trucks and Jet Utes on wastewater pipes. Offered on a permanent, full-time basis this role is the perfect opportunity for the right candidate to support a new 10-year contract that commences in October 2022.
The Civil Maintenance Worker (wastewater) is responsible for safely delivering the physical aspects of planned and reactive maintenance, and/ or minor projects under the direction of the field supervisors. This is in accordance with quality, time cost and service requirements to the South East wastewater assets and associated network maintenance activities. The Civil Maintenance Worker (wastewater) will ensure that; there is a safe working environment; environmental procedures are met; and they will work in a co-operative, efficient and safe manner with other members of the team. They will abide by and comply with company and project objectives including established quality, environmental and safety standards, and practices.

In this role you will be responsible for the following
- Act with safety front of mind and be an advocate for our values Safety, Delivery, People and Accountability ensuring the highest standard of safety is always maintained for all stakeholders.
- Ensure all works are performed as directed in a competent and safe manner for both employees and members of the public in line with relevant policies and procedures.
- Carry out labour tasks/ field work unsupervised, including planned and preventive maintenance and reducing repeat blockages.
- Lead and/or assist site set-up by ensuring safety signage and equipment is deployed in accordance with the TMP at the commencement of the job and removed at the completion of the job
- Ensuring all works are performed as directed in a competent and safe manner.
- Carrying out labour tasks/field work unsupervised, including planned and preventative maintenance and reducing repeat blockages.
- Lead and/or assist site set-up by ensuring that safety signage and equipment is deployed in accordance with the TMP at the commencement of the job and removed at the completion of the job.
- Undertake and participate in job and plant hazard identification and incident notifications.
- Attendance and active involvement in team meetings and toolbox meetings.
- Lead and/or assist in the completion of a job through mobile field computing and/or paperwork.
- Operating and maintaining maintenance requirements of plant, tools and equipment.
About you
To be successful in this role you would ideally possess the following.
Qualifications
- Current Victorian Drivers License.
- First Aid Level 1.
- White Card.
- Working at Heights.
- Confined Space Entry.
- Heavy Rigid (HR) License.
- Traffic Control.
- Class A & B high pressure water jetting.
- Traffic Management.
- Wincan Accreditation.
Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar maintenance or construction role in water, drainage, or sewer.
- Experience in Wastewater reactive and planned works.
- Clearing of hour connection branches and reticulation sewers.
- Jetting and clearing of retic and branch sewers.
- Trenching and Shoring.
- Hydro combination units working on sewer pump stations and well cleaning.
- Knowledge of Water Industry infrastructure and asset management systems an advantage.
