Job Description Summary

Looking for a HSEQ Advisor for our Transport division.

About the Role

We are looking for a HSEQ Advisor to join our transport division. This role works closely with teams on the ground to help them meet safety and environmental expectations.

You will support coach managers and workers to help them understand and meet their safety responsibilities by using the PQRST approach (Positive, Question, Risk, Solution, Thanks) to encourage open, practical conversations about safety.

About the role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Help teams apply Critical Safety Controls (CSC’s) for high-risk tasks and support continuous improvement using learning-based safety principles (SCLP).

  • Be visible on-site, led by example, and engage teams using the Walk, Talk, Lead, Care (WTLC) approach.

  • Make sure teams and subcontractors understand what’s expected of them for safety by using PQRST conversations.

  • Run safety meetings and learning teams to encourage reporting, collaboration, and shared problem-solving.

  • Do spot checks and site visits to see how safety processes are working and reinforce safe behaviors.

  • Give prompt, helpful feedback when issues are found and focus on learning and improvement.

  • Coach teams on safety basics like toolbox talks, inspections, audits, and risk assessments.

  • Help review incidents to find the real causes and fix systems, not just symptoms.

  • Build stronger risk awareness by helping teams spot hazards early and take action.

  • Support early intervention and return-to-work using Injury Master to track and manage injuries.

  • Keep track of key safety stats like hazard and near-miss reports and align performance with project and client goals.

  • Make sure subcontractors follow safety rules through visits, training, and good communication.

  • Train teams on digital safety tools like Enablon to improve reporting and visibility.

  • Lead improvement projects by bringing in new ideas, tools, and better ways of working.

  • Keep everyone informed by sharing updates on safety performance and goals with clients and stakeholders.

  • Drive a positive safety culture, aiming to improve engagement and make safety a core part of how we work.

  • Travel may include overnight or extended stays, depending on project requirements.

  • To make any reasonable request given to you by your Direct Manager or their senior Managers.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Health and Safety, preferably within the infrastructure, construction or mining industries.
