An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Business Analyst to join Service Stream in our Corporate sector based in Melbourne, VIC

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Process Analyst to join our IT division. In this high-impact role, you'll bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. Using BPMN 2, you will analyse and model current and future business processes, develop business architecture, and support the delivery of IT projects that drive operational efficiency and strategic alignment.

You will join a high-performing, welcoming team, based at our modern Head Office, which offers a vibrant environment featuring a balcony, BBQ area, collaborative and quiet spaces, and plenty of natural light

Please note – This is a 12-month fixed term role.

About the role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Business Process Analysis: Lead the evaluation and analysis of current business processes and system requirements to identify areas for improvement or redesign. Lead interaction with key business stakeholders to agree on future business processes.

  • Business Process Analysis: Assess current business and system practices against leading industry standards to identify gaps, and document future-state (to-be’) processes that drive operational improvement and strategic alignment.

  • Business Analysis: Elicit, analyse, and define business requirements through effective stakeholder engagement to support the delivery of fit-for-purpose solutions that meet organisational needs.

  • Solution Design and Implementation: Develop detailed functional specifications for IT solutions, collaborate with the development and architecture team to ensure accurate implementation, and oversee the testing and deployment phases to guarantee quality outcomes.

  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between business units and the IT department, facilitating effective communication and ensuring that project objectives meet business needs.

  • Project Management: Support the project manager by informing project timelines, resources, and budgets, applying best practices in project management to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

  • Business Architecture: Support the development and implementation of the business architecture, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the organization.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in modelling and documenting business processes using BPMN 2.0 standards to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with enterprise architecture

  • Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders across business and technical domains to gather, analyse, and document clear, actionable business requirements.

  • Extensive experience in business process analysis, documenting both AS IS and TO BE processes.  

  • Extensive experience in a business analyst role within an IT environment, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

  • Proven experience assessing current business processes and systems, identifying improvement opportunities, and designing future-state process models aligned with best practice.

  • Proficiency in using tools like Visio and BPMN to create process flow diagrams. 

  • Experience working effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

  • Extensive experience in the Finance domain, preferably previously involved in a large-scale ERP implementation as a business analyst. 

  • Extensive experience in gathering and documenting business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, surveys, and observations. 

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate with both business and technical stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into clear, actionable processes. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and translate business needs into effective IT solutions. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

  • Certification in Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) is nice to have.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field would be an asset.
