About the Opportunity
Service Stream’s Utilities division are currently seeking a Trade Assistant (Mech &/or Electrical) to join our growing company. The Trades Assistant primarily assists electrical & mechanical trades with reactive and corrective works on industrial electrical / mechanical systems, providing physical support to trades, as well as spotting, deliveries, warehouse management, and operation of construction equipment
Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Brisbane, QLD
Reporting Line: Area Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in Commissioning & de-commissioning of assets/plant/installations
- Installation and augmentation of assets/plant/installations
- Carry out Programmed Maintenance & capital work
- Maintain open and proactive communications with client liaising with the client regarding operational activities
- Complete all data requirements by client
- Participate in after-hours support of maintenance activities, as required
- From time to time assist with deliveries and procurement collections.
- Shadow tradespeople to gain insight and skillset advancement for personal growth and development.
- Participation in rostering which ensures efficient and continues operation of critical infrastructure.
- Dedicated to assistance MECS Teams to enhance HSE continuous improvements.
- The MECS teams will work collaboratively, supporting each other’s disciplines to enhance efficiency, share expertise, and ensure seamless integration of maintenance and repair activities.
- Fostering collaborative engagement with external trade stakeholders to ensure efficient performance of services and minor works projects.
About You
- Experience in similar role within the water industry
- Experience in similar role or as TA in maintenance
- JSEA and associated HSE documentation completions
- Experience using HIAB trucks
- Experience driving tilt tray truck
- Confined spaces experience
- Willingness to upskill and undertake additional training for ongoing development and potential trade skills knowledge advancement.
- Experience on wastewater treatment plants and all equipment located within the plant (Desirable)
- Experience working on water filtration plants (Desirable)
- Generator Maintenance servicing experience (Desirable)
