An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HSE Business Partner to join our Service Stream team based in Brisbane

About the Role

Service Stream is currently seeking a HSE Business Partner to join our Safety team. The immediate role is to support the Service Stream, Urban Utilities project, Brisbane.  You will play a key role in driving a strong safety culture. ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, codes of practice, and ISO Standards 45001, 14001, 9001 and the Office of the federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) Accreditation.

This role will support the implementation and management of HSE accountabilities across the works and services of South East QLD Utilities Maintenance Contract. We seek a candidate ideally who has exposure to electrical work experience. Mechanical and Control Systems exposure will also be favourable. Candidates lacking any of the above elements will be supported and developed on their Safety Career journey.

Job Description

Hands on role focused on improving the ability of the operational leaders and their teams to meet safety expectations, manage risk and deliver safe outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with and provide advice, support, and leadership to the delivery teams to ensure a safe workplace and compliance with Service Stream HSE requirements.
  • Lead by example – model the Service Stream Safety Value and expected safety behaviours, always acting consistently with company safety rules and requirements.
  • Involve others – provide leadership and support to consultation, communication, and collaboration processes, encouraging people to report and discuss HSE matters and be involved in improvements/solutions.
  • Demonstrate care and commitment – maintaining a high field-based presence verifying safety processes and controls, completing inspections and interactions, and modelling the Service Stream, Walk Talk Lead Care safety model.
  • Implementation of Service Stream Group HSE Framework and alignment of project specific HSE documentation, materials, and resources to comply with the Framework and manage risks and controls.
  • Lead event incident investigations identifying learning opportunities and corrective actions.
  • Supporting Injury Management and Return to Work processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

  • Highly Desirable – A candidate who has an electrical trade and also has a genuine interest and / or experience in Safety Role
  • Desirable - A candidate who has worked in a safety role in the electrical industry or electrical focused organisation or an Electrical Graduate interested in developing Safety experience / career.
  • Experience in a similar HSE leadership role within infrastructure maintenance, construction, civil works, or mining industries.
  • Working knowledge of legislation, standards, codes of practice, and ISO Standards 45001, 14001, 9001; and the Office of the federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) Accreditation.
  • Strong communication skills including the proficient use of Microsoft Programs.

Qualifications Required.

  • A relevant qualification in WHS / Environment.
  • Valid current Australian Full Driver’s Licence.
  • Return to Work training.
  • Desirable – Incident Investigation Qualification.
  • Auditing experience well regarded.
